Gaming Skills - If you are a Good Gamer or have exposure to various types of games. This sets you up for two critical skills already - game design and the thinking required to be a game programmer . Alternatively, Gaming is a very creative profession and having/developing good set of Creative Skills , Good Learning Skills, Exposure to variety of Patterns and Practises, Exposure to a wide variety of tools and techniques and a whole lot of reading :-) is required. While we can help you with all of that, The only thing that you need most is a passion for Games (2d, Retro, 3d FPS, TPS, Casual, Simulation etc )
A degree in Computer Science is a must or you will need to have good programming skills and atleast be competent in one programming language (C++, C#, Javascript). 2d/3d art work and use of tools and techniques can help aid in understanding the gaming world a bit more deeper.
